Feeling alone and slightly depressed, Marion Hunt decides to start a bookclub, one dreary January day, and despite a slow start, she finds enough people interested to get started.
All the members have their own reasons for joining, with a love of reading not always being the main motivator.
As their individual lives continue and intermingle, the bookclub turns out to be a huge success, in more ways then one, for all but one of the members. But then again, like the others, this one exception only gets what he deserves.
A fun book. McCabe has dedicated the book to Maeve Binchy and her husband, and there are definite signs that Binchy was a huge inspiration to this author. And although she doesn't quite equals Binchy's magic, she's not too far off.
